I would say #1 but I would love to have seen another one with a touch more exposure (just being awkward !)
Is this the process using Ferric Oxalate and, if so, did you make it yourself or import it, Phil ?
Which do you prefer ? You have to satisfy yourself.

I prefer number 1, and yes its made with Ferric Oxalate and deved in Sodium Citrate. The ferric oxalate liquid form was from Bostick and Sullivan

I ran out of bellows but generally do not like the fully straightened look-its to unnatural to me

I guess I'm the only #2 guy...so far anyway.

#3 seems all washed out and #1 seems tonally out of balance as far as the composition goes. #2 "sits there well", or, the walls feel they should be that dark with such a heavily shaded space above them, and the dark pews give it all a good solid foundation. Always hard to tell with such small images on a screen though...

I think #3 captures the stark, haunted-house feeling that I get when entering most churches ;-)

I'll take #3 - followed very closely by #1. Agreed that the warmtone is pleasant in #1.

Actually - I'm starting to wonder if the differences between these images aren't much smaller than the differences between computers...! Someone mentioned No.3 (the one I like) looking cold. It looks QUITE warm to me - and No.1 looks a bit overdone in the warmth dept. I could easily see this computer thing being the case... hmmm...

#1 in my opinion. 3 is good, but 1 has a more comfortable level of contrast. wait...I'm not sure now. The luminosity of #3 is nice. Well, I think that I prefer the subtlety of #1.

BTW, nice composition. The diagonals lead directly to the upper corners, there's enough of the pews to ground the composition, and the intersection of the vaults on the top edge holds the top portion well.

Phil, if you want to donate any one of these prints for me ( joe public!) to look at closely I would be honored! The tones in all three are amazing. I love the mistry of number 2! Waiting for something to come out of the shadows!!??

I am going outside the box on this one and say you should selenium tone #2 and you will be right there!

Without the others for comparison they are all good prints for their own reasons.
