Thought I'd continue the soldier theme, although not a "sarge" he is a Private soldier of the the Scottish Division on guard at the main gate to Edinbrugh Castle. this is a scan of a 10x8 print.God Bless the Black Watch

And before you start I know this "jock" is not a soldier of The Black Watch Regiment.
 
As crocodile Dundee once said, " Now, that's a knife!"

The Brittish Army is on of the proudest military organizations in the world. They are steeped in tradition and have about the sharpest dressed units I've ever seen. IMO the Scottish Divisions and Regiments are about as snappy as they come. (I think I hear pipes....?)

When you see and hear a Scottish Unit, in full dress, you almost forget what a terrible business they're really about. You're photo, however, brings that clearly into focus. It's a neat balance between the soldier, his dress cover and that god-awful bayonet.

Nice shot. Love to see more.
