The Morning After The Night Before

This is one of my first cyanotypes and it's a contact print from a 5x4 negative.

I coated the paper in the original cyanotype formula. I exposed the paper and negative for 30 minutes in bright sunshine then developed it in running water for 4 minutes then 20% citric acid for 4 minutes before a final wash of 6 minutes. Finally I partially toned the print in coffee which darkened and neutralised the blue and stained the watercolour paper a light brown creating a duo-tone effect.
