Wanted to test my Nikkor 150/5.6 against the sun.

Matti, this is one where a lens shade won't work! Stand development would be the only way I would try this shot, as it would help control the sun and allow the shadow values to build and firm. You might try playing with stand development and do a similar series of shots, just to see how you like it (the trees with backlighting). If the sun were blocked by a lens shade, this would firm up nicely and hold good detail. Interesting effect from the light. tim
 
I agree I did this very thing the other day and used stand dev, same lens, dev and film and wow. As soon as get my scan back on line i'll post. Nice image anyway...

Hi, Thanks for the suggestions. I might try to reshoot it. But since the sun rises earlier every morning, I better do it soon!
But I am not sure I could get details in the shadows. As I remember it, I put them in Zone IV. Even though I can print them lighter, they look very flat. I suppose the reflections will allways do this to pictures like this, no?
