I've been trying to properly print this negative for a few years and found that the Kentmere WT held the shadows and highlights better than anything else I tried and I've been trying everything. The polytoner really separated the midtones nicely and opened up the image a great deal. Good stuff.

The story: Just before my LAST corporate job was swallowed and moved to Omaha, I told my recently retired father, Vojko, that we were leaving for europe the day after the deal closed. Dad had been a political refugee in Italy for 2 years but being penniless had never seen the sights. I had never been to Croatia and had never met our family in Zagreb & Dalmatia. It was 78 degrees when we landed in Rome on Oct 11. It was an amazing trip.

i love how all the people are massed in the front and sides
giving a big open space to counter the ornate building infront of your dad.
what a great way to remember a great trip!

Wonderful story Vic. I admire your persistent and continuous work to show the final print as you had envisioned it when you tripped the shutter that day in Rome.
Italy is a unique place, somehow people seems more bonded despite the Southern European temperament. (As seen by a Northern European)

Great story, Vic! Ah, Venice... one of the greatest places! Your dad's body language says it all. It really is awe inspiring to stand there, and gaze at everything in San Marco Piazza! The crowds, the pigeons, the church, the towers!
 
A terrific tonal range and tells a great story. By the way send me your dad's diet and details of his lifestyle. His stance and general vibes says he's fitter than me and he's got to be just a little older. I use the word little because if I admit to myself how much older I'll probably commit suicide.
