Phil is losing his socks

This may be of interest to APUG members. It is an available light shot made on Kodacolor Gold 400 and then scanned on the original high resolution Kodak scanner during an internal trial a few years ago.

I have about 10 disks of my negatives scanned this way from that initial test. They seem remarkably clear for being nearly 15 years old. Phil is almost 18 now.

It does seem to be an exceptionally clear image. I wonder if the negative was re-scanned on the original scanning system whether there would be much difference. Looks like there wouldn't be from the human eye point of view, but technically there may be some difference.

Nice picture by the way.

Mick;

Thanks for the comment. I don't like the cushion in the right corner and there are some other faults, but I caught Phil just right.

Kodak does not use this type of equipment any more AFAIK. It was too slow for 'production' work from what I heard. I think it was a K S Paul drum scanner, but I'm not sure. That is the one I saw.

BTW, Phil loved watching me take pictures, and he asked to use my ETRSi, so I have a picture by Phil waiting in the wings here. I may post it someday. He took it at about age 4 of his favorite Teddy.
