This photo is PL-62-76423 (year + negative #).
It was taken on my request as "director" to judge proper positioning of a plane to shoot liftoff pictures of the John Glenn Mercury launch.
This shows the Mercury gantry in the foreground, and at the far rear (north), you see the Saturn gantry under construction. Hangar "S" and the "VAB" which was not yet built would be on the far left.
Titusville is lost in the haze on the north but you could drive around the Cape and get pretty close to the Saturn launch site from there.
This negative is one of the 'rejects' that I retained. It is a good shot, but not the best one that we selected.
