A very old station dissused for many years, It's now part of a cycleway and forms part of the Afan Argoed Country Park. The sun is behind the trees on the right side and it was not long before setting behind a hill.
The line was built in the late 1800's to transport coal from the many large and small mines scattered all over the valleys to the docks at Port Talbot, Coal was shipped worldwide from there. The South Wales coalfields have the highest quality Anthracite coal in the world, much of which still lie underground to this day. There is about 300 years supply still there and I hope is stay's there.
