The shadow on one side of the door and the bike on the other make this really thought-provoking. Even as a thumbnail this is a powerful image. On the negative side, the step at the bottom right spoils the atmosphere for me. The window top right too but to a lesser degree. Perhaps if these could be cropped out without ruining the overall balance of the photo, what is already excellent would be even better. It is hard to comment on tonality as this is a scan but it looks beautifully sharp.

Both shadows add to the shot. The person shadow might add more if it was on the door as if it was seeking entrance. There's a surreal quality to very long shadows of just one person.

Losing the step and bird would make it better as well

The bird and bottom right step crop out fine an i feel the image is better for it. The bike door and shadow remain in fine.

I really like this. Dead simple and thought provoking. Well seen.!
