Lighthouse

Lighthouse

For some pictures I need a little distance to like them. This is one of them. It was printed about a year ago. I got some dust spots on it (thanks ot gimp not showing up here) and thought it not to be worth to repeat it. Now I think I will do it again to get rid of the spots.
The picture was taken during our summer sailing trip around Fünen, an island in the so called danish south sea.
Because of bad weather we had to stay for two days in Söby on Aerö. We used the time for a bicycle-ride to Skjoldnäs-Lighthouse.
They build a large golf course around the lighthouse so I hope it will remain accessible to the public in future.

Oops, I forgot to tranform to grayscale. Thanks for the hint. I usually scan in RGB and transform to gray in gimp. I'll fix that.

Hi all,
most of the time, as it should be, my prints look far better than the scans. In this one it's the other way round. The scan looks better. The last few days I contemplated on this and now come to the conclusion: The print is too sharp.
The print is razor-sharp and too close to "just a staircase" unlike the scan which lost most of the ugly details and the texture in the walls leaving something near to "pure composition".
