Scallops

Well that is what they reminded me of from my advanced yoga position which I had to adopt to make this picture.

Reverse the tripod bracket, shoot almost vertically upwards, camera movements, head in the leaves of Forest floor, bellows factor (the ongoing deer rut adding sonics to this concept too) ...... and all to present this serene shot of a few mushrooms.

Wanted to try to capture an apparent flow up through the image, with the gills seeming to radiate too.

Hotspot on RHS of RH mushroom is not so severe at high Resolution as appears here, plenty of detail there. Might need some attention though.

I'm a sucker for tis kind of stuff, but here in florida we just don't get enough of it. maybe in the northern part but not down in the south. great comp and I do love the radiant look of the veins.

Very pretty.

Thanks for the positive comments guys.

Yes Barry I was on my back, and side, and head it seemed at times!

Wondering whether a crop on RHS to clip off part of the gills would improve symmetrical balance or just disrupt 'flow' through the picture. I like the completeness of the shape, but it is just an element in the shot.

Baxter, it is perfect as it is, it is not complety symmetrical but that just makes it that little bit off and atonal. Sorry if that was miss spelled. I like a little bit of tension.
