I was at the Denver Grand Prix last weekend. They had a little car show one evening and while all the other guys were galking at the bikini contest I was burning film. This car was my favorite. It was raining a little that evening too.
Nice image-Nice car !!! Being a Boss/Shelby fan from way back I had the pleasure back in the early 90's of helping a Japanese gentleman push his GT40 onto the track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway at the SAAC convention (IIRC) ---Wearing it's Original Gulf Colors and the real McCoy---that's the closest I've been to a running GT40--and as usual I supplied the sweat and got no glory !! He had the car flown in from CA. I did manage to buy a 67 GT350 myself years ago along with my Boss 302 I've had for 20 years (I still have both!!) but thats a far cry from a GT40 but the closest I'll have to a performance car---but the a GT40 is an icon !
You said it, GT40 is an icon. There was an old track dog GT40 sitting accross from this beauty. It was getting darker and more people were crowding around it when I got done shooting this one. So I only got a few nice ones of it.
