Finally getting around to scanning some shots I took with Les, Aggie, and others back in November of last year. I've been playing around with crops, I like this one best so far.

This has brought memories of the day flooding back, thank you. I like the arrangement and the feeling of light and the power of that magical sea is well captured. One small niggle is the darkish rock at the top right corner, because it is adjacent to the brightest water in the image it is the point of highest contrast and tends to draw the eye up there. I would get rid of it and although you would lose a little information at the top it does not spoil the effect you have so beautifully created. I'm that you could darken the water in the top corner a little just to tighted up the edge of the frame. The sliver of rock on the RH side could also be eliminated without significant loss to the image.

My guess is that none of you went wading. Les's comments are very useful regarding elements of composition, but, what I like here is the sense of danger and instability I get peering over into this roiling, churning cauldron of sharp rock and pounding water. Thanks for the glimpse from the safety of my comfy chair (love to see the print as well.).

Super. I think you have the right cropping. I like the arrangement of the elements. This really captures the energy of the surf.

I really get the feeling of being there and the power of the sea which I know so well. Beautifully captured

Nicely done....great timing with the surf.

Timing- right! Definitely the "decisive moment". Somehow, I seem to hear the surf booming - wait - shoot, that's just "jean" finally leaving.

I disagree about the framing comment. The touch of dark rocks at the top and right delineate containment of the water. Without them it leaves the eye to wander off into empty space and away from your image. Well done.
