Brush, Mono Lake

8x10 silver contact print

There is definately straight black in this print, though the hot areas of the brush hold detail... scanning can be a real bitch. Thanks for looking.

I've come back to this image 3 times now but I can't say what draws to it. I would like to see the print.

Thank you. I wish you could see the print too. In person this photograph has much more impact. There is a loose patern and fluid shape toward the left center of this print that really jump out at me when I view the photogaph. I just don't feel those things as strongly when I look at my scan. Thanks again, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Best. Shawn

Hello Shawn,

After a few days of looking at this image it has really grown on me, I like it. It really keeps bringing you back.

I know exactly when you mean by scans not showing how it really looks. I have the exact same problem with my stuff as well.

Thanks Kevin. I love hearing someone has taken time to come back to an image of mine, especially another photographer.

It's just not possible to convey the sublte qualities of a fine fiber print in a 72 dpi jpg. I guess we should just be happy we have the technology availble to be having this discusion. Of course it would be nice if we could teleport prints back and forth  . Thanks again. Best. Shawn
