Jonah is my very sensitive middle child. After a week of wedding craziness in Charleston, late nights, and not a lot of "mom" time, Jonah was having a bit of a tough time.
Before we arrived in Charleston, I had it in my head that I wanted to get a wall-worthy shot of my three kids on the joggling board at Bob's parents' house. But after a few minutes of trying, it was obvious that Jonah just wasn't going to get into the group spirit.
It was a really memorable moment when I sent the other kids off to play and took a few quiet moments alone with Jonah. Just a couple of minutes of one-on-one attention brought out the most amazing, glowing expression. It's rare to get an image of the real, unguarded Jonah, so this frame is as special to me as the moment that produced it.
