gorgeous "first".
well actually gorgeous first or gorgeous thousandth.
imagine having someone like kerik to walk you through it made the learning curve about zero.
thanks for posting it.
Hmmm. I like the photograph. It's nostalgic in that it reminds me of a 1930s travel brochure. Pleasant, for sure.
I don't agree with the display though. I've started seeing these brushed or heavy borders as a kind of pretension. I know that in the case of alt process stuff like this, the border is a a product of the method. I just think it looks kind of outlandish as part of the display.
Meltronic I still haven't decided if I like the edge effects or not. Sometimes I feel it's like an extravagant frame and detracts from the actual image, other times I feel it makes THAT image different from the next one made from the same neg. I have tried masking the brush strokes out, and I'm not totally happy with that. I think until I can decide I'll keep the brush strokes but matt up to the edge of the negative and cover all bases.
This image, as do many alt process images has a kind of 3D look to it that I believe is more common in larger formats. The thing about this image is that it is not only a perfectly done print but a wonderful subject perfectly captured as well. Very well done!!
