  1. Yes
Looks like buttercups and stinging nettle in the background if I'm not mistaken. The buttercups always put on a good show here in late April or early May for about a week.

I'm not sure if 'buttercup' perhaps can refer to multiple species, but what we're looking at here is mostly ficaria verna I think (pilewort or lesser celandine, according to Wiki), which is a common spring flower around here. In more sunny spots, it's already flowering now, but these are in the shade, so they're a few weeks behind. Perhaps this species is also referred to as 'buttercups'; I only know the ones that are still in the ranunculus genus and that are omnipresent in meadows, fields etc.

You're definitely right about the nettles and at this stage, they're quite delicious (but stingy!)

The long-leafed ones in the center are bluebells I think. Very pretty as well.

I always like the texture and sheen on the fresh leafy greens this time of year and how this renders on monochrome film.

Yes, that's the plant I mean and the same one we have here. It's much delayed in its bloom here compared to yours due to the climate 😄 We don't get cherry blossoms, for example, until mid-April.

Yes, those are them! Beautiful shot, too!
These flowers are a little ahead of themselves as well around here, these days...it's really noticeable how everything blooms earlier every year. Although this year it's a little less extreme for some species than in other years.
Ah well, I enjoy spring as it comes and whenever it comes!

Nice shot! I didn't see the nettles at first. When they get bigger they are nasty! I went fishing as a little kid and learned the hard way from a bunch of stinging nettles along the banks. You don't fieel the sting until it's too late and your halfway through the patch.

Yeah, they're mean little guys (and later in the season, big guys!)
There's an anecdote my stepmom likes to tell. When she was a little kid, her dad worked in a metal shop/forge, so his hands were rough (but his soul was gentle). When nature called, he assisted the kid by wiping her bottom with some random leaves. Well, turns out that a smooth bottom does feel what callused hands overlook...LOL

I was picking them barehanded for tea last year... had a delayed reaction, kind of felt like a jellyfish.

Well, it usually (ahem) works if you pull gently along with the growth direction, instead of yanking. But it depends on the species as well as a couple of other factors. I've often picked them bare-handed, but nowadays I just use scissors.
