Change their clothes slightly and the scene becomes the 1930s and not the 2020s. In the right outfit the wistful looking girl facing inwards come from the Marcia Blane Schools for girls on a chaperoned "day out"Good balance light-wise between the outside and inside -not easy from my limited experience

Muriel Sparks creation was apparently based upon James Gillespies, the school she herself attended. I always thought Marcia Blane School For Girls school was based on Mary Erskine's school for girls. This cafe hasn't been modernised and has a pre-war look about it.
