It's Better To Light A Single Candle Than To Curse The Darkness

A candle sconce in my living room, with just the flame of the candle to light the scene. Taken on November 14th, 2025 - in fact just a couple hours ago. I picked the camera up off a "popular online auction site," and it came in the mail on Wednesday, so I couldn't wait to test it.

Norris City, Illinois, U.S.A.
Equipment Used
Minolta XG-9 (No. 2) and a Minolta MD Zoom 70-210mm, f/4 @110mm.
Exposure
f/8, 1 second.
Film & Developer
Fuji Film Neopan Acros 100 (expired 10/2019), Caffenol CM-RS for 44 minutes.
Digital Post Processing Details
Negative scanned with an Epson Perfection V500.

Normally, I would develop film in this caffenol recipe for only 11 minutes. But since I mixed up this batch of caffenol a week ago, for some other negatives, I figured it had depleted quite a bit. I multiplied the developing time by four and that was enough to get the caffenol to work still.

Ther things photographers will do to save money!
 
It seems to have passed the test!
