Mother and child

Is that a painting on a sheet solely of the mother and baby with "real" objects in the background or is all of it a painting/ drawing but made to looks as if it is on a sheet?

I hope that my question makes sense.

If I had to choose, I think it is a complete "pen and ink" drawing made to look as if its a sheet with a portrait on it

In terms of effect I have always thought that "pen and ink" pictures are the best for this effect. It produces real feelings in the viewer that come from the artist . This one has real impact - well on me anyway

Thanks for your comment pentaxuser. It is a sheet. Looks like an old bedsheet to be honest. I agree about the impact of the image. I took a few images with a 35mm rangefinder which I haven't developed yet, which might give a different aspect to the protest.

Thanks Excellent work on a sheet I once saw a pen and ink portrait of oor "Big Tam, the Milkman from Fountainbridge " and it was superb. It was for sale in an exhibition in a community hall in a small village near Rugby, Warwickshire of all places. It was pictures like that which persuaded me that pen and ink is a superb medium

Thanks. Fountainbridge has been transformed since Big Tam wandered up and down its tenement closes. He is of course a legend in Fountainbridge and Tollcross. I agree pen and ink is a superb medium, and it works well in the image here.
