Very nice picture! portrait in the landscape

Very typical in a Hebridian landscape, and very lovely.

His expression made me think of the difficulties of enduring the climate on the Hebrides.

That was in fact what we were talking about and while he was considering the harsh winters I took the picture. I didn't ask his permission and perhaps I should have done, but that would have lost the moment. It probably took 2 seconds to frame, focus and take the picture.
