what lens were you using? W/a 28mm or wider, you could keep the film plane flat to the scene, catch all of the subject matter and have vertical lines perfectly vertical. Other than that, you have a great documentary image of Havana!

Hi Drew thank you for your comments - how would I do what you suggest? Lens wise I think it was probably just my 50mm as I was walking around but I can't be sure I'm sorry

It looks like you wanted to get in the bldg tops as well as the auto and street...and to do that, you'd have to aim up with a normal lens. That distorts the lines. With the wide angle, you can keep the camera perfectly flat (film plane flat to the scene) and still capture the whole image...but the vertical lines would be straight and parallel. Sometimes, you'd have to capture much more of the foreground than you want..but you can crop that out later. I'm interested in anything cuba because I was working with an independant film maker (PBS) and the documentary has to do with Cuba and the triangle slave trade of the 17th and 18th century. drew

Thank you, completely understand what you mean. I love Cuba absolutely fell in love with the place and the people - have you been? Its an absolute photographers paradise.
regards
Rebecca
