A special place to me for photographing wading birds, gators, black bears, deer, bobcats, river otters, manatees and endangered Florida panther(once, with a cub). Also, at night under dark skies for astrophotography and searching for the mythical Skunk Ape!

Taken at Loop Rd in Big Cypress National Preserve with my trusty FM2n, MD12 & favorite 400mm f/3.5 ED Nikkor. A French tourist kindly obliged to take the pic.

Digitized w/ D800 & 60mm micro.

Despite the heat, mosquitoes & some poisonous snakes, the Everglades was one of my favorite places. Unfortunately due to health reasons I'm not able to return.

Sorry that you can't return. Maybe this is the perfect time to comb through the archive and keep posting those awesome pictures you took when you were there :smile:
