Inspired by @awty 's dramatic skies, I thought I'd give it a try. Any thoughts?

Cool.
My suggestion would be to have a more pronounced burn at the very top and her hand reaching a lighter spot with less burn or no burn on her hand.....it's nice to give a little hope in times of despair.

I see what you say. That'd give for sure a different feel. I'll try it next week when I get to the darkroom! Thanks!

Well conceived and executed! I like that you waited for the bird lol. A true photographer. Awty's suggestion is a good one. There is so much you can do with this image, have fun!!

Thank you!
I spend a lot of time waiting for birds, and a bit less for cats and dogs. Thankfully, I don't have to wait much for humans being in a touristic city
I will indeed keep working on this!

You have achieved something incredible by visualising someone else's art (the statue) and made it into your own art, the photograph.

....

Impressive!
+1

"it's easy to show what the statue looks like.... the challenge is to show what else it looks like..." loosely paraphrasing Minor White.

the sculptor would be very pleased with your interpretation.

Thank you, James! You reminded me that I did another print with the suggestions I was given here, but never posted it.

What an amazing gradient in the sky. How did you manage to nail that? Composition is sublime as well.
