Anecdote: 1972, I was studying in my tech school in Geneva, Switzerland and Aerospatiale wanting to promote Airbus, invited local tech journalists. One of them got the idea of rounding up some tech students to fill the charter plane!
We get there, as company guests. Wide facility tour: Concorde mock-up walk-thru, Airbus structure stress hall, assembly halls, a variety of airbus cabin layouts by airlines, cafeteria lunch with sales engineers answering questions. What a day!
The main take-away is that it is a good thing the flying public does not realize how thin and lightweight everything is on the machine!
