Ancient Bristlecone Dreamscape

Packing an Eastman 7X11 and 18" Verito into the Bristlecone forest at 10,400 ft. will either keep me young or kill me.

I've posted 2 versions of this tree. One is straight f64 Dagor that would make Saint Ansel and the rest of group f64 proud, and one would have at least raised Mortensens' eyebrows. Which one do you like?

My, what a nice format!
And a very nice image, too. Looked at the other one and I like them both, but for different reasons. I'll have to give the nod to this one, however. Great composition.

My, what an extremely cool format... lots of swirly goodness in an ideally-proportioned package...

For those of you not lucky enough to have met Will Whitaker in person, the avatar is in fact, a perfect likeness. :D:D

It is also looks like an illustration by Jim Steranko /:

A very cool illustrator...

I think it's actually from the deliciously twisted mind of Max Cannon (http://www.redmeat.com/redmeat/) I love that comic strip.

I like the composition of this one, and the sharpness of the other one.

Can you take that big camera back up there, and do it again? You know that St. Ansel would require you to do so, right?

Lovely format, just a bit "longer" than 5x7...

Yes, yes, how could I get the two confused? I love red meat!

Thanks for the nice comments. For those that wished for a sharper version of the SAME composition to compare, I actually did that. The photo at the link below was also done with the Wolly Verito but at F32. So it doesn't have the bristling sharpness that the Dagor one has.
