Generally speaking if you want a nice split tone you use (after the normal fixing and washing) selenium, wash, bleach, wash, then sepia and wash. Just need to get the selenium bath just enough for a slight colour change. If you give it too much then the bleach isn't as effective. There is lots of combinations you can use on different papers to get what you like.
I'm just using 5x7 cooltone cause it's the cheapest paper I can get, although I do like it for certain prints. The gloss has the darkest blacks and vivid whites I've seen on any paper. The newer Ilford RC papers tone better than the older stuff.
