8 fifteen hour days in a row, and$45k later. Me on the left and greg on the right, we were beat. We had to build a new one as the one last year broke the crank in 4 peices at 160mph last year. Greg is still cleaning his shorts. A little info. 588 cu in, 15.46:1 CR, launch at 6200, shift at 7500, across the finish line at 7700. Burns 1 1/4 gal of 114 octane fuel @ $9.00 a gal. Drag racers know where the finish line is and go to it, NASCAR keeps going around and around trying to find it.

When you first start the engine.....how long is it before you stop listening? I really like this kind of shot it captures the sense of achievment one feels after a hard won battle against time,finances and metal.

We bracket race in the super pro class, for cars 11.99 and faster. This car will be running in the 8.30's, hoping for a high 8.20's with real good air. Your right Tony, it is bad, that is why it says bad gas on the valve cover. It's also the Greg's initials. ( GAS ) The car is a 67 camero SS. If you can turn left, your going too slow. More will come as we get along. We put the tranny in today. Bogeyes, can you say that again, I couldn't hear you.
 
There is usually a moment of quiet after a big bang, hope all goes well for you and your hard but enjoyable work is rewarded. There is nothing like the sound of a well tuned engine for standing the hairs on the back of your neck on end, you can control the throttle opening but only the best can control their sphincter.
