I wish I could keep my car in that state. Just lazy, I guess.

I remember cars with fan light windows, manual window control, limited to no controls on the steering column, and actual wood...

I really like the angle - the oval of the steering wheel in particular.

gorgeous and amazing. The scanned image is wonderful too.

I longed for the simplicity of a safety free car until I had a recent accident that should have cost me my life... or at least a limb. Due to the excellent work of a surgeon, that limb was saved. Now I am all about safety features in cars. The one in the picture is a death trap. Gorgeous, picturesque... yes. But hungry for your body parts or your life.

Yep. The good old days, when driving was taking your life in your hands (well, it still is, but you have a little better grip now).

All tradeoffs -- a car you can fix yourself vs. one that burns less gas, pollutes less, and protects you better...

The oval really reminds me of the rings of Saturn - which sort of makes sense since 50's cars were rather into 'space' as an aesthetic.
