I suspect the excess grain is some kind of scanning artifact. The Silverfast scan doesn't show this much grain but when I reduce the size in Photoshop (and that's all I do), the grain looks worse. Once the electrical problem in my house is worked out, my darkroom will back in commission and I can print the image and scan that on my Epson v700. That should be much better.
