Shot on an Ilford HP3 quarter plate. They were given to me by the very kind APUG user Schlapp.
The plates are quite fast, says 200 Weston on the package. If I understand correctly that would be 250 ISO. But, to compensate for their age and after listening to Schlapp's suggestions, this one is exposed and developed as 20 ISO.
seeing plate images gives me GAS.. :-/ i saw this image and thought.. "what a weird shaped candle on a plate!" until i realized was it was from seeing the thumbnail. it's amazing how some simple objects and compositions take on a new life with such old and primitive processes. keep up the good work! images like this are great motivation.
I got a standard package with 12 plates. Old, soft and nice.
Been doing my own plates from SE1 emulsion for a while, but they have a much harder contrast.
