Nice shot. If one of these was relaxing in my backyard the granddaughter would turn cartwheels with joy and want to stroke it and give it a saucer of milk Some of my neighbours a few miles away have similar creatures in their backyards but they own stately mansions and many acres. Most of them are called lords and earls
In desert-like Colorado, the suburban residential lots are small to save on water and are surrounded by largish common areas. In those areas there is a surprisingly heavy population of wildlife - rabbits galore, prairie dogs, coyotes, deer, fox, elk, raccoons, hawks, the occasional mountain lion, black bear and eagle. A friend claims to have seen a moose within 10 miles last year. Our yard was much more popular with the deer before we put 4ft-tall circles of mesh fencing around the rose bushes and trimmed away the lower limbs of the crabapple tree. In the back ground I can make out the 1ft tall stub of a bush that is actually 17 years old.
Thanks. Always nice to know the surroundings and animal life that we in the U.K. can barely imagine. I do see the occasional hawk round here but he is usually selling double glazing to unsuspecting prey
