Hawk (front) - Gum Bichromate

This is the front view of a hawk that killed itself by flying into my dining room window November, 2001. I kept it in my freezer for a couple years until I finally photographed it. The print was made in 2005 in gum bichromate using burnt sienna and ivory black.

I see I`m not the only one keeping roadkills in the fridge. Great image. It looks like a Victorian natural history illustration. I can imagine a Calligrapher adding the latin name in sepia ink below.
