Extended Vision

This is the cover of a book showing my journey through the world of IR photography that I’m working on at the moment. It contains mostly Kodak HIE IR shots, but also the colour slide version. I also have some shots using Rollei 400 IR and digital shots.

Thanks, bsdunek & jnantz for your comments. I'm almost finished compiling the book and then I'll send it for printing. The books cost around $ 40 depending on the number of photos so needless to say I'll be only ordering one copy. I do however think it is a good idea to make a book of your photos, it's much easier to show people than having to drag out a box of prints. Some of these companies provide a link to the book when it is completed so that I can share it with friends to view without having to buy it.

jtk Thank you. At the moment I have 49 photos at 1 photo per page except for my panorama shots where I put 2 per page as a single one looked a bit lost. The pages are 10" x 10".

Great work Vincent! Your photos have always inspired me and I would like to see the final result when finished. I'm hoping to do something similar with my HIE images, but so many of them are badly fogged I still need to figure out the best way of printing them (bleach and sepia toner seem to work the best for me at the moment).

@mooseontheloose Thanks for kind comments Rachelle. It took me a long time to start to put together my selection for the book. Some of the images are print scans but a lot of them are neg. scans which in many ways look better and sharper. This is worth bearing in mind and might save you a lot of work and time trying to restore your damaged prints. I would suggest that you pick your personal favourites and then select the ones that received most comments. I hope this helps.

@Vincent Brady Thanks Vincent! Actually I find scanning the negs worse - it just amplifies the grain that HIE is known for. Which means more work in the darkroom, but I don't mind. Just need to find the time to do it all!
