Wow..... is this recent, is it in Australia.?
I have several picture types of books about trains. People like Hull and O W Link.
Is there anything else, train related, near that loco.?
Kind of amazing it was never scrapped.
Even a small engine had A lot of steel.
@CMoore Its just out side of Rosewood in Queensland, they were just on a disused branch line on the side of a dirt road, couple of locos and some small carriages, probably used for spare parts. Theres a lot more further down, but that looks to be on someones property. Theres a railroad museum somewhere around there, but I have the feeling its run down. Theres a better museum in Ipswich not far away with working trains and tracks, theres also another working about another 100 kms west....and more. The government closed a lot of small regional railway lines over the years (as they do) and carts and stations were left where they stood, some towns have fixed up the old stations and others have been left to the termites. If you Google "steam trains south east Queensland Australia" you will find quite a few in my patch of the woods, theres much more else where to.
@CMoore There's a big tourism industry here around steam trains, been quite a few small towns refurbishing old train stations and tracks. I was in one small town taking some photos and noticed people setting up cameras further up the line, couldn't work out what they were preparing to photograph and then I heard the whistle and a big old steam train came around the corner fully loaded with tourists. Sometimes they run through Sydney.
