Did a field test with the old 24 x 30 view camera seems have got all the light leaks. One of the xray film sheets popped out of the holder, so will fix them in a little better for now on. Xray film isnt the best for silver gelatin prints, but I wouldnt of got the clouds using VDB. missed the crow.
@jimjm If I waited a split second more I could of got the crow mid flight, next time I will take some mice with me and encourage them to stick around. Was windy as well and was waiting for a lull, big cameras sway a lot. Could do better with the enlarger and a 4x5 negative. Wish to do plate photography in coming years and got to get practicing.
@dasBlute@Hekoru@NedL Thanks, have another neg for Vandyke brown, see how that works. Ned selenium for the dark bits and sepia for the highlights, so usually selenium first and amount depends on the paper. Usually just a weak bleach into the highlights to try and get a nice split tone. Some papers work better than others(neutral paper seems to work the best) . This was just a quick test strip and one print. Usually I would do a few prints to work my doges and burns, but the neg isnt great so not really worth the time, can always try again.
