  1. Yes
This brings back memories. My Dad had one in the 1950s to get him to his workplace. He had got to a stage when using a bicycle became too much like hard work:D They were very reliable machines and very economical.

Neckarsulm Strickmaschinen Union (NSU). I was once in Heilbronn on business. I was unable to convince my colleagues to visit the NSU museum a short drive away. They didn't even recognize the name! Schade... I did see the Neckar river which was some consolation.

Small capacity machines are fascinating. Delicate, purposeful and spare. Thanks for sharing macfred.

Oh what memories, this was my first motorcycle. Every time I came to a hill, I used the pedals to keep up the speed. I needed to carry fuel in a small metal container as the distances between fuel stops were too far apart for the small tank. I rode mine from Melbourne to Adelaide in one week in the sixties, around 750 kilometres, then I took the long way home, which was around 1,000 kilometres.

35 years ago when visiting Germany I convinced my girlfriend, now my wife, that we should visit the Deutches Zwierad Museum (I think the spelling is correct) on the Neckar river. She lived in Remseck Zwie on the Neckar and it was literally a short trip along the river. The museum was bliss, three or four levels of magical (mostly) German motorcycles. Although the main attraction for many people was the DOHC 4 valve head 500 single with kompressor, which was pretty much the best pre - WWII racing technology.

The find of a perfectly preserved NSU Quickly was it for me, I drooled over it for what must have been a rather long time.

From memory I shot around 6 rolls of slide film on that trip to the museum, I have many of them hanging in folders in my slide film filing cabinets.... memories.

Mick.

Ps:- the picture of the Quickly is very well done.

You captured the Quickly well! I had one in college (1956-1960). Got me to class very well, even in the winter (if you were careful. Went down a few times). Great little bike. Graduated to a NSU Max later.
