This would be the pic of the 3 for me.The other two, the lighting isnt very even and they look a little cold, also the hands look more awkward. There an interesting thread on using portra you may be interested in if you haven't sen it already.....btw im the worst portrait photographer so take anything I say with a grain of salt. https://www.photrio.com/forum/threa...s-look-like-they-were-shot-on-digital.157464/
Really like this shot, especially the shallow dof. The nose ring dates it obviously, but these colours and her clothes could have been anytime over the years into last century.
As a painter, it was pointed out to me early on that blue backgrounds for portraits is a difficult matter most of the time.
You have made a very good shot, the thinness of the nose ring really looks much better, IMO, than a heavier piece would have, but, I suggest a darker, mat green, somewhere between a springtime green to a darker forest green might have severed you better, and provided a more natural colour contrast to the red, red-orange tones of her sweater.
I also feel like such a background would also have been a more neutral hue to the light coloured cap.
The second thing I see, which does give me pause, is position of the catch lights, in her eyes.
I suggest that by slightly raising the light source, you could have had the same lighting, but improved those highlights by raising them closer to mid eye or even a bit higher.
A black card should always be on stand by when doing these type head shots, as you may have wanted to subtract some of the light on the that may be reflecting back into the shadow side. etc.
This is a very good portrait, as is, however, in considering these things as modest 'improvements', I do believe it could have been improved
