Thanks Awty! Sorry I didn't respond to your question earlier.
Don't think I've ever shot FP4 before, just HP5 and Delta 100 & 400, as far as Ilford goes. Been shooting a lot of TMax and (original) Acros 100 lately.
P30 is definitely different from anything else - I could see a difference in the negs as soon as I hung the first roll to dry. Deep blacks and punchy overall contrast, which I like. More so than TMax and definitely more than Delta. Better grain than TriX (obviously). I had about 15 rolls, and maybe have a few left. I'll definitely buy more when it's available.
I've shot it at 80 and 50 (which some folks have recommended), but I've had good results from both. I'd love to get some in 120 (or LF) and do some shooting in the desert. Might be good for some Anton Corbijn-type shots like on U2's Joshua Tree album.
Gotta say I keep thinking about your recent "Tweed" gallery submission. Makes me think about the coming apocalypse, which here in the U.S,. we're not too far from.
Cheers!
@jimjm Thanks Jim for the reply. Looks good, be great when it is more available, tried rollei rpx 25 in 120 recently, was pretty impressed and bought 5 more rolls to try out. Has nice edge sharpness and no grain similar to your print, look forwards to comparing the 2 one day.
My tweed pick is a little messy, redid it and its a little bit better, was close to the way I wanted the scene to look, but my ambitions out way my capabilities.....I keep trying.
