Photo taken across Bear Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park at approximately 11:30 AM. I did not add any of the debris to the heart shaped pool of water, the debris was already there. Photo used by the Sierra Club as part of a traveling exhibit.
This image was taken the same morning as Moonset, Hallett Peak. The photo was taken at about 11:30 around the lake from the photo of Hallett Peak. The flat top mountain is Long's Peak.
This photo was taken using a fair amount of front tilt with the looming rock in the foreground acting both as a lead in and the main subject. The Heart Shaped pool with the water and debris (which was already in the pool of water) adds interest to the image. The shape of the rock (particularly at the far end) repeats the shape of the mountains at the rear of the image. The blue of the sky is repeated in the blue of the lake. The conifers sweep down from the right of the image. The "puffy" cumulus cloud to the right and the other clouds fill the sky well. The exposure range of the scene exceeded the film latititude dramatically and called for the use of a 3 stop Grad ND filter.
The image printed about 24" x 30" has been used as part of a traveling exhibit by the Sierra Club.
Thanks Jason, you have been most complimentary about many of my images. Here is a case where more of the B&W shooters here on APUG should look at many more of the color nature and landscape images and not just ignore them because they are color. They may just find that they like the images and learn more about photography.
