No critique from me......I would be very happy with this. I have taken photos of waterfalls before (some photos in gallery) and they can be quite difficult to print. With some of my prints I have had to selectively burn in more detail in the water through a small hole in a piece of cardboard kept moving but I don't think this print needed that. The current MSA is on the theme of "Transit". Why not enter this? The water is certainly going somewhere!

Nice flow from the top right to the bottom left corner. I too would like to see less contrast and maybe a tad less exposure. Looks to me like the scene was well lit and you have tried to make it darker. You can bleach the white water to get it to to pop out from a lower contrast print......mind you not that I have taken many waterfall pics and certainly no real good ones.

Yes, the scene was well lit. Although the digital copy is perhaps with a bit more contrast than the original print I agree with you that the tonal balance and contrast is a bit of. I did struggle to get the water right using local burning (soft grade). Great advice to print with lower contrast overall and then bleach the highlights; did not think about that! Thanks!

If you do lower the contrast and print for less time the water may lack detail (which is interesting and adds to the photo). If you then burn in with a soft grade you may only make the water grey without giving it the detail you want but keeping it bright overall. You can burn with a higher contrast through a hole in a piece of card kept moving. It's like "painting with light" but it does take a surprisingly long burn because the light tends to be dim through a small hole.

This one (which I never posted here) was brightly lit like yours but I kept the contrast up to keep the water bright white. This has caused the rest to get quite dark. Even so, the water has had an additional burn to bring out some detail. I was never quite happy with it but I get bored easily and moved on to something else too soon.

This one I decided to make the water the totally dominant subject and not care about the rest:

and this one I kept quite bright but burnt in some detail (it could do with more burn in the foreground water):
