Absolutely lovely. To my eyes it's a great composition with the foreground tree and its shadow and then the orchard (is it an orchard?, I am thinking they are fruit trees) beyond. The fence adds even more interest.

The threes are elm. In old times it was quite common in Sweden to cut down the crown of these elms and save for the winter to feed the cattle. In the particular area of this photograph there is a community trying to keep with this procedure in order to preserve the very special cultural landscape that results from the procedure.
 
Ah yes, they have been pollarded. We have very few Elms left in the UK after the Dutch Elm Disease. So few in fact that I find it hard to recognise an Elm these days. They were grown for timber and I have never seen them pollarded in this way. Our Elms were allowed to grow to great size as the timber was rot resistant and used for things such as bridges and other external work.
