Revisiting old negatives (over 8 years) from a personal project, for my revamped website. These are from the last working days of printing press workers, before men in suits showed them the door.
I used to get $250 monthly consulting fee from a magazine, just to go in and evaluate/confirm color proofs. Easy pickins'. I almost knew what color lithography was about, for which pressmen respected me. I liked those guys, photo editors and art directors feared them.
great stuff colin!
i remember i was sent by the paper once to photograph
the printing presses that printed their paper ( at like 3am ) and submitted photos of
the workers proofing the paper ( guessing that is what he is doing? ) .. my managing editor was like
" i thought these guys worked hard, they are just hanging out reading the paper"
thanks for the memories !
