This has been my best selling image, and has been used by Leica camera and EverColor Fine Art. It has won many awards including through Professional Photographers of America. Unfortunately the thumbnail does not do it justice.
As it is printed larger it gives the impression of lying on the forest floor and looking up toward the top of the Aspens (of course that is the way that the photo was taken). The small single cloud near the upper left third makes the otherwise synthetic or almost plastic looking sky look real.
I've actually seen this image in the ads that you mention. It is amazing how sharp this image is for 35mm, and is a great example of Eliot Porters "Intimate Landscape" a technique that I stuggle with, but which you seem to have mastered. This image reminds me of growing up in Colorado. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the compliment. But intimate landscapes are always difficult to try to "pull" out of the chaos of landscape. And of course Chaos is another of Eliot Porter's books.
