I suppose that putting a strong visual element like the road/car in the bottom corner is an unusual composition choice, but I read it more as how people get cocooned but the larger landscape endures.
Though there is not a lot of N.California landscape that has not been strongly influenced by people these days.
Thanks for the comments.. I practice landscape that incorporates, and does not shy from, the additions and modifications of man. So I always work in man-made features into the composition. In this case, the hills and fog are the central subject of the area there and man's interventions are a small part. Hence, road in the corner.
