I think the look is more of intent than disdain (i.e., 'grumpiness') and I think that Charles Dickens would agree. But you did, indeed, capture a characterization of sorts and the 'decisive moment' was appropriately tracked. - David Lyga
I am always amazed I ever got old. And now, when I look at other older folks, I try to see the kid in them,
to imagine them young, in their flower, and to appreciate the care lines that have grown on their faces.
Evidently shot at a far lower ei (probably automatic) than for the couple. That Olympus E-1 proved itself with both. ...helped along by a very perceptive photographer, of course.
Is he really grumpy? I look at the comments and wonder... I mean the dude picked up lunch. Maybe he's just waiting for the light to change to cross the street and get back to work. What is it my wife tells me? Ah... that's right, he suffers from "RBF" (resting b**ch face).... something all of us don't know we have. Nice shot.
Ha Ha ! Thanks for all your comments ! Yes -- that 'Gift' E-1 body gives good results. It came from a new Camera Club member who has lots of gear but is not a 'show-off' -- he is very kind and appreciated the help I gave him to start entering photos into Club Competitions. He found the original 2003 lens it came with and gave me that as well -- a 14-54 Zuiko zoom f2.8-3.5
