That's a tricky one. I like the clouds but the rocks seem too soft and are a bit muddy. If you print this at a higher contrast the rocks will be become too dark. This will need a separate approach for clouds, rocks and foreground grass probably with the use of separate contrasts in different areas. Easy to say; difficult to do.

@Svenedin The result you're looking for could readily be accomplished via scan and (ahem) non-analog print..or almost certainly with platinum rather than silver.

However, on my laptop this already seems a remarkable moonlight shot (moon behind cloud, still managing to illuminate rock)...I like that and I'm guessing that's what we're seeing.

@jtk Ah, maybe I have misinterpreted the photo. I often do. My laptop is very old and I don't have a desktop computer. Photos do not appear to me perhaps as they were intended. My laptop has suffered badly as a result of multiple postings overseas. Dented, battered and the screen doesn't work properly.

@Svenedin Wasn't immediately obvious on my $200 Dell Latitude E6410 but your comments (which I first agreed with) made me look closer, tilt the screen back and forth, and rethink.

The tones aren't muddy, believe me. Even thoigh it was a muddy day!

@Svenedin This print will be printed as a kallitype not silver gel. I mainly print in carbon transfer or other alt processes.
