Gale At Argentia

The wind was a steady driving 20 knots directly into the camera, the rain and salt spray was terrible and cold, just above freezing. I could not keep the water off of the UV filter so I quickly took this one shot. I wrote this shot off in my mind but it turned out to be the best of the roll.

Fine photo and very Newfoundland. Shot from the ferry?

Was there earlier this year...lived there as a kid, still love the place, gales and all.

Thanks jtk, no it was shot from the beach before we boarded the ferry. My roots are in Fortune and Harbor Grace. Considering moving to the St Lawrence area..

John...do you have the accent? The gigantic ferry is an "experience" all by itself. St Johns' streets rival those in Tijuana for weirdness, though probably safer than anywhere else in the "Western World". I'd move there in a flash, despite Canada's ruin of the fishery and the tragic "confederation". Here's a toast to Joey Smallwood!
