I also enjoy photographing the abandoned and unusual. This is an abandoned structure at an old iron mine in the Adirondacks. I have no idea what it is but it is steel and about 50 to 60 feet tall. A friend who is a Dr Who aficionado said it was a giant Dalek, hence the name.
Location
Old Tahawus Iron Works in Tahawus, NY, way deep in the Adirondack wilderness.

Thanks for commenting Stephen and Kilgalb. I did a little research Stephen and that is exactly what it is, a scrap lumber furnace. It was for the saw mill that supplied the mine about a mile further up the road with lumber. Never imagined that one of those would be 50+ feet tall . . . must have been a sight when she was roaring at night . . .
