How "overdeveloped"? What do you see? It may be unevenly lit (faintly lighter on left than right)?

Did you intend N+1?

Simply, the negs were very dense. I did not have a correct dev time so I guessed. This was a low-contrast scene so it worked out OK.

Yes..the resulting contrast worked out nicely, detail in both highlights and shadows was kept.
